Our Counselling Space
If you decide to work with me face to face, we will have one hour sessions in my peaceful, ground floor therapy room in Bishopthorpe, York.
A room at the back of the house with a big window, it’s cosy, private and quiet, and overlooks the garden.
Water is always available and I will offer you a hot drink.
There is easy off-road parking, so no stress there; or there is the number 11 bus service from York to the village, a short walk down the lane.
You have control over heating and lighting. You are welcome to move around, there are fidget toys, a weighted lap blanket and a visual countdown timer so we can easily see how much time is left in the session.
I have clay and a sand tray available in the room. You are welcome to use them as a tactile way to ground yourself, to quietly express what you are feeling, or simply to give your hands something to do while we sit together. There is no right or wrong way to use them, and no pressure at all – they are just another tool to help you communicate in whatever way feels safest to you.
